Children will Rise to the Occasion

I am working with 10 children in the Atlanta area this week.  What a great group of 1-6th graders.  They want to learn, some are being forced by their parents, but at the end of the day, they loved it.  Life skills are so important for moms and dads to have children learn.  Have your children talk at the table, pass the bread to the right, pass the salt and pepper shakers together, hold the water glass by the bowl of the glass, take only the amount of bread that fits in your mouth when buttering and eating it, place the napkin on your lap, but make sure the pleated side faces the table, and so on and so on…SET THE STANDARDS HIGH.  Parents, you will be surprised at how your children will rise to the occasion.  (If the children I am working with can pronounce my last name in an hours time, this is the example they can learn.)

Some people say etiquette, manners, being polite….I say life skills.  This will work for your child today and for tomorrow.

A little fact:  having boundaries at all ages whether 6 years old to 12th grade is much better. Fight the fight parents…Remember, nothing good goes on after 11:00pm.  You don’t want that “call”.  Pay attention parent to who and what your children are doing.  Get more involved with your children’s lives!
